This immersive and in-depth tracking workshop will seek out the diverse wildlife of the Black River area and give participants a wider foundation of tracking knowledge and ecological awareness.

Come explore the floodplain and riverbanks of the grand Wisconsin River for track and sign of the diverse wildlife communities living there. Track ID, gaits, method of problem solving, and reading sign will all be included in our learning in the field this day.

Our fast-paced automobile society kills countless animals every day. We can work to honor these losses and receive many gifts by learning to assess and use these animals.

Many of our animal neighbors undergo big behavioral changes in fall. From migrating to stockpiling to home building. many strategies come into play as winter approaches. Come seek signs of these behaviors and more in this outing.

Play can teach us so much about paying attention, using our senses, and perceiving more around us. Through games and activities, we will smell, feel, listen and take in the wild world around us more fully in this afternoon program.

Certified tracking evaluator Matt Nelson will conduct a Track and Sign Evaluation in our area of the Driftless Region. Participants will be evaluated on about 50 questions on track and sign in the environment and scenarios will be discussed making for a great educational experience also.
